Wasabi plant
The wasabi plant was originally found in the mountain-valley rivers of Japan. It has been used in Japan for centuries and has more uses than just the paste that you eat with sushi. The way the plant is prepared is that the root is ground into a powder. Being exposed to the air is what causes the hot taste of the plant and that’s why the root is ground up. The wasabi plant is full of chemicals that can provide a great many health benefits, including reducing heart attacks and strokes and being used as an anti-inflammatory. Although it’s not very commonly grown, it is becoming more available as people figure out how to grow it in a controlled environment.
